About Us

    Typically, Senior Adult ministries at churches usually come with the stereotype that we are old, slow, and unfortunately, ineffective and unimportant.  Here at CrossPointe, that is absolutely NOT the case.  We are alive, vibrant, busy, and extremely effective.  There is work to be done, and we've got the time, skills, and experience to do it.  So, if you're looking for a place to get involved and to give a helping hand, we've got a spot for you.

    CrossPointe is known as a "Church with a Heart," and the Senior Adult Ministry has a huge part to play in CrossPointe's mission of being a community church.  In addition to our weekly food pantry and worship experiences, hosted at various retirement and assisted living centers, there are a multitude of monthly regularly scheduled activities where you can get involved and make a difference.

    So, if you're looking for a place to lend a helping hand, develop meaningful and rich relationships, the Senior Adult Ministry at CrossPointe is the place for you.  We look forward to having you join us as we do our part to fulfill our mission statement of "Loving God, Loving Others, and Leading People to become fully devoted followers of Christ."

Worship Experiences

    We typically meet for the Vintage worship service each week help at CrossPointe Church in the Main Sanctuary.  The service starts at 8:30 and is followed by a variety of different Sunday School classes.

Activities and Events

    Monthly Activities
          Assisted Living Devotions
             Arbor House - 2nd Sunday of each month - 1pm - 4501 W. Main Street
             Sterling House - 1st Wednesday of each month - 3:30 - 1701 East Alameda Street

          Rose Rock Covered Dish Fellowship
                     We meet at 6pm every 2nd Tuesday of the month at the
                           Rose Rock Villa, located at 700 N. Berry in Norman, OK. 
                           All you have to do is bring yourself and a covered dish and enjoy
                           an evening of fantastic fellowship.

             CrossPointe Travelers
                      On the 3rd Thursday of every month, the CrossPointe Travelers take a short trip
                            to someplace interesting.  There is a small cost associated with this trip,
                            but it's definately well worth the trip.  Watch the bulletins and the displays
                            in the Great Hall for more information.  Signup at the Welcome Center.

             Grief Support
                      Hosted every 3rd Sunday at 5pm in Room 203.
                            Facilitated by Mike Garner, this is for anyone who is dealing with grief issues
                             of any type, divorce, lost loved ones, etc, and would
                             like some support and help.

             CrossPointe Newsletter Mail-out
                      On the last Tuesday of each month, we gather at 9am to help sort,
                             stamp, and label the monthly CrossPointe newsletter.


       Weekly Activities
           Food Pantry
                      Every Friday from 11-12 we host a Food Pantry for our local community.

             Rivermont Devotions.
                      Facilitated by Richard Judd, we meet every Monday morning at 9:30
                            at the Rivermont Assisted Living Center for a worship experience.
                            Rivermont is located at 800 S Canadian Trails Dr., in Norman.
