baptism

At CrossPointe we practice believers baptism, a practice that Jesus himself displayed to us (Matthew 3:13-17). After you accept Christ as your savior Baptism serves as an outward display of your internal commitment to follow Christ. Baptism also symbolizes your old self being buried in the grave and a new creation being born again (2 Corinthians 5:17).

To learn more about what The Bible says about Baptism we encourage you to read through this 7 day devotional plan that will teach you about Baptism as a next step in your faith.

Study The Word

One of the most important, and difficult, spiritual disciplines for Christ Followers is the daily reading of God’s word. The Bible isn’t just a book written by man, but rather the divinely inspired word of God. The Bible is God’s special revelation to us as mankind and contains wisdom and principles that we should live by. As a new believer it is extremely important to dive into God’s word so that you can read His words for yourself.

For a new believer one of the best places to start is with The Gospels in The New Testament. This is because The Gospel is the entire foundation and purpose of our faith. Each Gospel serves as eyewitness accounts of what happened in the time of Jesus’ ministry. The different Gospels show different aspects of Jesus. Matthew shows Jesus as King, Mark shows Jesus as a Servant, Luke shows Jesus as The Son of Man, and John shows Jesus as The Son of God. The Gospel of John is widely seen as the best gospel for new believers to read due to its portrayal of Jesus. Below is a recommended study that will take you through The Gospel of John.
